    Chiropractic Medicine

Chiropractic is a complementary and alternative medicine health care profession and an approach to healing concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disorders of the neuromuscular system and the effects of these disorders on general health. Chiropractors emphasize manual therapy including joint adjustments and manipulation with particular focus on joint dysfunction.

Although a wide diversity of ideas currently exists among chiropractors, we share the belief that the spine and health are related in a fundamental way, and that this relationship is mediated through the nervous system. Chiropractors examine the biomechanics, structure and function of the spine, along with its effects on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems and what they believe to be its role in health and disease.

    Manipulative Therapy

Restoring joint movement and reducing muscular tension is achieved with manipulation of the joints in the spine and extremities.

Techniques incude manual manipulation, drop table, activator and muscle energy technique.

    Physio Therapy

Electric muscle stimulation, ultrasound, traction, massage, hot/cold packs, stretching, cupping, and gua sha are used to promote recovery by increasing circulation, improving muscle tone, preventing disuse atrophy of the muscle and relieving pain.

    Exercise Therapy

Stretching and exercise promote stability and assist in preventing re-injury by improving balance, coordination, posture and awareness.

Exercise is used to restore symptom-free movement and function. Developing core strength and working with flexibility is a main goal of prevention and ensuring an injury-free lifestyle.

    Massage Therapy

Massage therapy has a long history in cultures around the world. People use many different types of massage therapy for a variety of health-related conditions.

Massage therapy is often considered part of COMPLIMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE (CAM), although it does have some conventional uses. People use massage therapy for pain relief, rehabilitation of athletic injuries, stress reduction, relaxation, depression and general wellness.

    Cupping Therapy

According to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) cupping is a method of creating a vacuum on the patient’s skin to dispel stagnation, stagnant blood and lymph, thereby improving ‘Qi flow to treat a variety of illness, musculoskeletal pain, the common cold and respiratory conditions. Cupping mobilizes blood flow in order to promote healing.

Cupping is safe and effective. It can be used to treat muscle strain, myofascial pain, plantarfascitis, Achilles tendonitis, shoulder pain, low back pain, headaches and more.

    Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a collection of procedures involving penetration of the skin with needles to stimulate certain points on the body. In its classical form it is a characteristic component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). It has been categorized as a complementary health approach.

Acupuncture can be used to treat musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, headache, fibromyalgia, allergies, asthma, low back pain, myofascial pain and many other pain syndromes involving the nervous system.
